Governor Akeredolu To Be Away For 24 Days On Suspected Health Grounds, Hands Over To Deputy

Rotimi Akeredolu The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, will be away from the state from Thursday, April 1, to Friday, April 23, on his annual leave, the state government has confirmed.SaharaReporters learnt that the governor might be travelling out of the country to attend to some undisclosed health challenges during the leave.Rotimi Akeredolu In a letter transmitted to the State House of Assembly and addressed to the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, Governor Akeredolu said it was a 15-day leave, which was the first instalment of his annual leave.In a release by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Richard Olatunde, the governor will resume for duties on Monday, April 26, 2021.He said, 'Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, today, Thursday, begins a 15-day working vacation as first instalment of his 2021 Annual Leave.'In a letter transmitted to the State House of Assembly and addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun, Governor Akeredolu said the leave will commence from Thursday, 1st to Friday, 23rd April, 2021, both days inclusive.'While Governor Akeredolu is away on vacation, the Deputy Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will perform the functions of the office of the governor. The governor will resume for duties on Monday, April 26, 2021.'Akeredolu's leave follows President Muhammadu Buhari who has been out of the country to the United Kingdom since Wednesday on a medical check-up ' his sixth medical trip during his two-term ordeal in office.During his first term, Akeredolu was away for several months from state activities, attending to an undisclosed ailment at that time, with the opposition and other stakeholders opining that the governor was no longer medically fit to govern the state.PoliticsNewsAddThis:Original Author:SaharaReporters, New York Disable advertisements:
