Cuomo claimed he's done more 'than any governor in modern history' in initial draft of his pandemic book

Andrew Cuomo initially had a line in his most recent book about being the most accomplished governor in "modern history," according to the New York Times.</p><p>The <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/31/nyregion/cuomo-book-nursing-homes.html">Times report</a> centered around Cuomo using his staff for help on the book, despite being told by an ethics board to not use any state resources in the process. The governor also got <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cuomo-new-york-nursing-home-death-toll-book-covid-coronavirus-2021-4">at least a $4 million advance for the book</a>, which he was writing around the same time his administration was <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cuomo-nursing-home-covid-deaths-ny-attorney-general-james-report-2021-1">covering up COVID-19 deaths among nursing home residents</a>.</p><p>In the initial draft, Cuomo accused New York City Bill de Blasio of suffering from "obvious ego driven narcissism" before getting to a passage about how good he was in comparison.</p><p>"I have experience and a skill set that qualifies me as a good governor," Cuomo wrote in the draft, according to The Times. "I have accomplished by any objective standard more than any governor in modern history. But I am not a superhero."</p><p>Cuomo is facing <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-cuomo-scandals-summary-sexual-harassment-nursing-homes-impeachment-resignation-2021-3">multiple scandals simultaneously</a>, but has remained in office as the state Assembly inches along with an impeachment investigation that will <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-cuomo-impeachment-timeline-months-rather-than-weeks-2021-3">take months to get going</a>&nbsp;in earnest.</p><p>While he is also under investigation from New York's attorney general for alleged sexual misconduct in the workplace, Cuomo has <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/andrew-cuomo-press-conference-refuse-resign-bowing-cancel-culture-2021-3">refused to resign</a> and continues to deny any wrongdoing.</p><p>"Andrew Cuomo writing about ego-driven narcissism sounds like the pot calling the kettle black," a de Blasio spokesman told The Times.</p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cuomo-book-more-than-any-governor-in-modern-history-quote-2021-4#comments">Join the conversation about this story &#187;</a></p> <p>NOW WATCH: <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/warren-buffett-modest-home-bought-31500-looks-2017-6">Warren Buffett lives in a modest house that's worth .001% of his total wealth</a></p>
