JAMB Approves Re-Sit For 379,997 Candidates

<blockquote><b>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has formally admitted responsibility for the widespread failure recorded in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), <a rel=ugc href="https://news360ng.com/breaking-jamb-admits-errors-in-2025-utme-results/">News360 Nigeria</a> reports.</b><br><br>At an emotional press conference on Wednesday, the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, fought back tears while acknowledging the disappointing situation that trailed this years examination.<br><br>Prof. Oloyede announced that about 379,997 candidates would be given the opportunity to retake the examination following numerous complaints of technical issues, unusually low scores, and alleged irregularities reported during the UTME exercise.<br><br><b>Visibly moved, the registrar intermittently wiped his face with a handkerchief as he expressed regret over the development, taking full responsibility for the negligence of some staff members.<br><br>He disclosed that candidates who sat for the exam in 65 centres across Lagos and 92 centres in the Owerri Zone, which covers the five South-East states, would be required to retake the test.<br></b><br>This move comes after weeks of public outcry from candidates and parents over irregular scores and glitches, which prompted calls for an investigation and corrective measures by the examination body.<br></blockquote><a rel=ugc href="https://news360ng.com/breaking-jamb-admits-errors-in-2025-utme-results/">https://news360ng.com/breaking-jamb-admits-errors-in-2025-utme-results/</a>
