Police Arrest 5 In Lagos For Selling 2-Week-Old Baby For 3 Million

<blockquote><b>No fewer than five suspects have been</b> reportedly <b>arrested in connection with the abduction and illegal sale of a two-week-old baby boy in Ajah area of Lagos State</b>.<br><br><b>The suspects, including a female guardian entrusted with the teenage mothers welfare</b>, were apprehended following a detailed investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).<br><br>According to a statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin on Thursday, the case originated from a complaint made at the Ajah Division on May 5, 2025.<br><br>The report detailed how a <b>16-year-old girl, identified only as Miss Happiness, became pregnant under undisclosed circumstances. Due to financial difficulties, her family entrusted her to one Nonye Osi for care until she gave birth.</b><br><br>However, police investigations revealed a disturbing conspiracy. <b>Nonye Osi, along with four accomplicesAkintan Adedayo, Jimoh Bashiru, Elizabeth Bishop, and Bukola Oladapoallegedly moved the teenager to an undisclosed location and sold the newborn for 3,000,000.</b><br><br>&quot;Following the transfer of the case to SCID, detectives from the Gender/Anti-Human Trafficking Unit launched a thorough investigation, ultimately leading to the safe recovery of the baby in Agemuwo, Badagry, Lagos.&quot;<br><br>The police authorities confirmed that &quot;the infant is in good health and is currently receiving care while arrangements are being made for his reunion with his biological mother.&quot;<br><br>The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing and all parties involved in the illegal transaction will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.</blockquote><br><a rel=ugc href="https://saharareporters.com/2025/05/15/police-arrest-woman-four-others-lagos-selling-two-week-old-baby-n3million">https://saharareporters.com/2025/05/15/police-arrest-woman-four-others-lagos-selling-two-week-old-baby-n3million</a>
