Abeokuta South Lawmaker Empowers Entrepreneurs With Tools And Cash (Pics)

<blockquote>ABEOKUTA, Ogun StateHon. Afolabi Afuape, the member of the House of Representatives representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, on Tuesday distributed tools and cash grants to 854 entrepreneurs in a bid to boost their businesses and stimulate economic growth.<br><br>The ceremony, held at the Ake Palace, saw hundreds of beneficiaries receive equipment such as fridges, motorcycles, and sewing machines, as well as cash grants ranging from N50,000 to N100,000. According to The Metrics, the gesture is part of Mr. Afuape's efforts to reduce unemployment and enhance economic well-being in his constituency.<br><br>In a speech at the event, Mr. Afuape highlighted his legislative contributions, including sponsoring bills aimed at improving national governance and local development. Some of the bills he mentioned include the National Farm Settlements Agency Bill and the Police Act Amendment Bill.<br><br>The lawmaker also emphasized his commitment to concrete community interventions, citing projects such as classroom construction and renovation, and the installation of solar-powered street lights. &quot;These efforts are aimed at enhancing the learning environment for students and supporting the educational development of the constituency,&quot; he said.<br><br>Mr. Afuape has also facilitated employment opportunities within government agencies and provided revolving loans to traders and artisans. The beneficiaries include the Panseke Traders Association and the Itoko-Keesi-Emere Women's Group.<br><br>Party leaders and stakeholders praised Mr. Afuape's efforts, urging him to continue working towards the betterment of his constituency.
