Favour Ofili Wins Women's 150m Event, Breaks World Record (Photos)

<blockquote>Nigeria's sprint sensation, Favour Chukwuka Ofili has smashed the world record in the women's 150m. The 22-year-old &quot;Star Girl&quot; as she is fondly called competes in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.<br><br><b>Ofili ran a fastest time in history (15.85 secs) on the long track of the Atlantas Piedmont Park, eclipsing the previous world record held by Bahamian Shaunae Miller-Uibo who ran 16.23secs in 2018.</b> Miller went on to win Gold in the 400m at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics events.<br><br>Tamari Davis placed second still below the previous world record, returning at 16.14 secs.<br><br><b>Before now, no female athlete has run below 16 secs.</b><br>The 150m is not contested at major meets like the Olympics and World Championships.</blockquote>
