Outrage in Okpanam: WAEC Exam Delayed Until NightfallStudents Forced to Write in the Dark<br><br>On May 21, 2025, an alarming disruption occurred at Unity Secondary School in Okpanam, Asaba - Delta State, during the ongoing WAEC examinations, sparking widespread concern among students, parents, and educators alike. The root of the problem' Exam papers did not arrive until after 6 PMwell beyond the expected timeforcing students to take their tests under flashlights in dim classrooms.<br><br>As the day progressed, unease grew among the students who had assembled for what should have been a routine assessment. Hours ticked by with no sign of the exam papers. By sunset, the exam hall was shrouded in darkness, compelling students to rely on the glow of phone lights or borrow torches from classmates just to see their answer sheets.<br><br>The scene was one of confusion and mounting anxiety. Already burdened by the pressure of a major academic milestone, the candidates were now dealing with inadequate lighting and the psychological strain of an exam gone awry.<br><br>Parents were quick to voice their displeasure. One distraught parent asked, How are these children meant to excel under such ridiculous circumstances' This exam is crucial for their future, and it was handled with such recklessness.<br><br>Finger-pointing has since spread beyond the school grounds.
