<img src="https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/images (21)_1750059852.jpg">A tricyclist was k!lled after a head-on collision with a driver moving against traffic on the Badagry Expressway.According to Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the general manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the incident occurred at Origan, Oko-Afo, involving a commercial tricycle with registration number MUS 716 QM and a Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC SUV bearing the custom plate OSUNFNKE.Preliminary investigations revealed that the SUV was driving against trafficfrom Ile-Epo towards Oko-Afowhen it collided with the oncoming tricycle. The tricyclist suffered severe injuries, including a dislocated knee, and was confirmed dead at the scene.In a statement released by LASTMA's Director of Public Affairs, Taofiq Adebayo, Bakare-Oki condemned the SUV driver's actions, describing them as a dangerous and reckless breach of traffic laws. He stated that the driver fled the scene, abandoning both the vehicle and the victim's body.LASTMA officials quickly secured the area and alerted the Morogbo Division of the Nigeria Police Force. The police took control of the scene, while the Federal Road Safety Corps transported the deceaseds body to the Badagry General Hospital mortuary.To ease traffic flow, both the damaged tricycle and SUV were towed and handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.This tragic incident underscores the deadly consequences of traffic lawlessness, Bakare-Oki said, expressing deep sorrow over the avoidable loss of life. He added that despite continuous awareness campaigns and enforcement efforts, some motorists continue to flout traffic rules with little regard for human life.Bakare-Oki reaffirmed LASTMAs commitment to safer roads through active traffic management, public education, and strict enforcement.
