Group launches programme for budding youths

By Eric Ikhilae, AbujaA group, the Eagle Team Media has commenced a programme to identify and showcase the talents of Nigerian youths in the entertainment industry.The group held the first season of its talent contest for youths on Saturday in Abuja in the music genres, which was segmented into categories of duets, rap, rhythm and blues (R&B), soul, reggae, and jazz, among others.Eagle Team Medias Managing Director, Kandi Olatunji said the show, with the theme The Next Eagle was intended to give the youth a place to channel their energies and do something worthwhile while being empowered economically, socially and morally.Read Also;BUA group boss donates N1bn to UIShe added: There is a lot to look forward to from this very show; it promises to be one of the most mind-blowing shows and it has a reality aspect that will show what actual musicians go through in the industry and equip these talents to face those challenges.A contestant, Maryam Benny, popularly called Dashe, said she has learnt a lot from the competition as a singer, songwriter and producer of R&B, soul and jazz music. The Lagos Coordinator, Sabathi 316, said the programme stands out, because the talents discovered would not be allowed to fizzle as they intend to help them manage stardom.A comedian, Lasisi Elenu hosted the show, with DJ Lambo, Larry Gaaga and Magnito Freshout as judges.
