Members, residents mourn TB Joshuas demise

By Gboyega AlakaA crowd of mourners has milled around the Lagos, Ikotun international headquarters of Synagogue Church of Nations(SCOAN) following the demise of its founder, Prophet TB Joshua.Though the church has not opened since March 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic, many members and residents trooped to the edifice to see things for themselves.Church guards and police operatives however stopped them from gaining access.They barricaded the entrance to the churchs Segun Irefin Street since dawn with only officials allowed entry.An official however insisted the church was not mourning.READ ALSO:TB Joshua: How he died, his last momentsHis body has left us but his spirit is with us. So, I appeal to you to go home, we are not mourning,he stressed.However, residents and business owners are lamenting the calamity the late preachers death will bring to the community.Some who are still reeling in the tough time of the shut down of activities due to COVID 19 said his passage is like a nail on the coffin of their investments.They wondered how the church will survive without its world-popular founder.The Ikotun Egbe axis where the church is located is reputed to have the largest concentration of low and middle-class hotels.
