I always recommend visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes and Pictured Rocks, which have some of the most picturesque beaches and views, along with Traverse City, which has both the beauty and the proximity to wineries, breweries, and excellent restaurants.</p><p>These, however, can come with a price tag, which is why I also recommend selecting a small inland lake to stay on, and then taking day trips to other towns.</p><p>I grew up going to a cabin on Big Star Lake in Baldwin, and some of my most memorable experiences are being able to enjoy the small-town lakehouses and forests, while also taking day trips further north to hike, swim, and explore the larger cities.</p><h2><strong>Are there beaches in Michigan'</strong></h2><p>Home to the five Great Lakes, Michigan has thousands of miles of lakeshore with a variety of sandy beaches on the coast of the mitten-shaped state. Most towns along Lake Michigan Lake Superior have several public beaches with amenities like bathrooms and vendors. From the dunes of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore to Grand Haven State Park and Saugatuck's Oval Beach, there's plenty of beaches to explore.</p><p>If you prefer a smaller lakehouse experience, there are thousands of small inland lakes across the state, many surrounded by small, private beaches and secluded forests. Many of these also include small sections of public beaches, as well as boat launches.</p><h2><strong>Is it safe to stay in a vacation rental'</strong></h2><p>According to the CDC, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cdc-fully-vaccinated-travelers-can-now-travel-in-the-us-2021-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">it's safe for vaccinated individuals to travel in the US</a>.
