Quantum physicist commits suicide in Delta

By Okungbowa Aiwerie, AsabaResidents of Kotokoto Layout off Orhuwhorun Road in Udu LGA, Delta State were thrown into mourning on Wednesday after a young quantum physicist committed suicide.Pius Idise reportedly took his life in the wee hours of Tuesday after taking sniper.A neighbour, Samson, said the deceased was found dead with the door to his apartment wide open and an empty container of the sniper by his side.According to him, the deceased moved into the apartment three weeks ago wondering what would have led to his committing suicide.READ ALSO:Grandson of renowned businessman commits suicide in KwaraAnother resident, who craved anonymity, said the deceased was a graduate of Physics from Ahmadu Bello University and also a Masters Degree holder in Quantum Physics.Although the immediate cause of the suicide was not known as at the time of filing in the report, residents and sympathisers blamed it on the harsh economic condition.Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Bright Edafe (DSP) confirmed the incident.He said the investigation was ongoing.
