4-Star WR Prospect JaQuayln Crawford Commits to Oklahoma over Texas

JaQuayln Crawford is one of the top athletes in the 2018 class and he is headed to Oklahoma.He announced his decision in a message on Twitter:The 4-star recruit is considered the No. 51 receiver in the country and No. 275 overall by Scout.com, although he is also capable of contributing in other areas. He has lined up at cornerback as well in high school and can handle the position at the next level.He is also an elite returner and should make an impact on special teams regardless of where else he ends up on the depth chart.They key is Crawford's impressive speed and quickness for his age. Per ESPN, he ran a 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds with a 4.33-second shuttle run.Although he is a bit undersized at 5'10", 163 pounds, he is a dynamic player who knows how to make opponents miss when he has the ball in his hands. Defensively, he can also stick with virtually any opposing receiver.The Texas native received offers from dozens of schools, including from most of the Big 12 and SEC, but eventually decided to play for the Sooners.It might take some time before Crawford is a full-time player in college. He not only needs to add strength to his frame, but he eventually will need to focus on one position and improve his technique. On the other hand, he could contribute immediately as a returner thanks to his playmaking ability.In the meantime, this continues an impressive trend in Oklahoma recruiting under new coach Lincoln Riley.
