ARC Raiders: Why the

Published by The Sun on Mon, 06 Apr 2026

If you’ve spent your morning being hunted by Vaporizers or getting ambushed at an Assessor landing site, welcome to the club. The Flashpoint Update (v1.22.0) has turned the surface into a meat grinder, and the "Close Scrutiny" map condition isn’t playing around. While the rest of the lobby is currently obsessed with the Dolabra Energy Shotgun, most Raiders are getting sent back to Speranza in a scrap box before they even see the blueprint.

Standard loot has been gutted in these zones. If you aren't hunting the ARC Assessor, you're essentially just a target. If you’re tired of losing your best kits, it’s time to stop raiding like it’s 2025.

Tactical Intel: The "Yellow Pulse" Secret

The biggest mistake Raiders are making right now is chasing the red beams. By the time those three massive red pillars shoot into the sky, every vulture on the map is already closing in.

The Pro Tip: Watch for the Yellow Pulses. Before the Assessor makes its controlled landing, the local Surveyors emit distinct yellow pulse waves during their descent phase. By the time the sky turns red, the party is already over. You want to be in position, tucked into cover, before the Assessor touches down. If you're seeing the red beam, you're not the hunter—you're the prey.

Facing the Vaporizer (Without Crying)

The Vaporizer is the new aerial ARC unit making life miserable. Unlike ground-based units, it uses vertical pressure and chaotic laser barrages that can chain through an entire squad.
  • The Trick: "Get cozy." The Vaporizer’s primary weak point is the core located in its belly. Because its tracking struggles with verticality, standing directly under its frame forces it to reposition, giving you a clear shot at the core or the rotors.
  • The Meta: Right now, the Canto SMG is the only thing stripping those shields fast enough to matter. While it has higher recoil than the Bobcat, it utilizes Medium Ammo, providing the armor penetration needed for the 1.22.0 armor buffs.

The "25% Rule" (The PvP Warning)

Here’s the part no one tells you: The fight doesn't end when the ARC units die. Community reports from the first 48 hours of Flashpoint show a consistent, deadly pattern: The fight actually begins when the Assessor hits 25% health. At this threshold, every "vulture" squad on the map is closing in, waiting for you to finish the PvE work.
  • The Strategy: At 25% health, stop shooting.
  • Check your 6: Reposition immediately. The loot isn't yours until you're back at base. If you're lucky enough to find rare Arc Raiders items for sale or a Dolabra blueprint, get it into your safe pocket before the first extraction flare even hits the sky.

Closing with "The Scrappy Tax"

If you survived but came home light on parts, go feed Scrappy some Apricots. It feels ridiculous to be a battle-hardened Raider carrying fruit, but in the 2026 meta, the Scrappy Feeding Boost is your best bet for targeting specific loot.

The Tip: Feeding Scrappy Apricots or Lemons (commonly found in the Red Lakes or Marano Park) influences the mechanical components he retrieves. If you're struggling to fill out your Arc Raiders loot cheat sheet, a well-fed robot is your most consistent path to those Level 3 Gunsmith materials.

Gear Up for the Next Raid

Stay safe out there, Raiders. I'll see you at the extract and hopefully not through a Canto scope.
