IN LINE with its tradition of deepening savings culture by rewarding and encouraging its customers, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, the Pan African bank has launched a new savings promo, The Lion King Savings Promo that would see customers of the bank win various cash prizes.The Lion King Promo, sixth in the series of savings campaign embarked upon by UBA since the emergence of the consolidated UBA was on Monday, introduced to the press at a ceremony held at the Bank's Corporate Headquarters in Marina, Lagos. Previous promotions include the Double Gain promo, the Lion King Millionaire Promo, the seven Wise men Millionaire Promo, The seven Wise savers promo and Grand Slam Savings Promo.The promo, which is open to existing and new customers of the bank will feature 23 Weekly draws, one Grand Draw and a Super Grand Draw with a total of 1,038 customers to be rewarded during the campaign.To qualify for the Lion King Promo Grand Draw, existing customers of the bank are advised to make a one-time minimum fresh deposit of N10,000.00 in their account or build it up gradually into an existing savings account for at least 30 days before each draw date.For both new and old customers, all they need to do is make a one-time minimum fresh deposit of N25,000 and maintain same for a minimum of 30 days to qualify for both the Weekly Draw and the Grand Draws. The more a customer saves, the higher the chances of winning; every multiple of fresh N10,000 or N25,000 saved, increases the customer's chances of winning. The promo will run for a period of six months with subsequent rollover option for another period of seven months, from1st June 2012.Specifically, customers of the bank stand to win cash prizes of between N50,000 to N1million in the Weekly Draws while seven millionaires will emerge from the Grand Draw. Also, seven customers stand to win the sum of N5 million each in the Super Grand Draw.In his opening remarks, the Deputy Managing Director, Kennedy Uzoka said at the launch event that the move was consistent with the bank's innovativeness, adding that 'we believe it is time we rewarded our customers, who have been with us for a long time.' Without its customers he said, UBA would not be where it is today, affirming the institution's belief in the savings culture.'As we get towards the end of the year which is time for celebration, we want to celebrate with our customers. We would be making millionaires out of some of them on a weekly basis,' he said.Also speaking at the event, Head, Retail Banking Division, UBA, Chidi Okpala said all prizes will be in cash and winners' accounts credited. 'They will be notified via SMS Alerts,' he added.'We remain committed to consistently improving customer service and rewarding our loyal customers. Hence, the Lion King promo seeks to compliment current initiatives aimed at growing savings, ' he added. The promo, according to Okpala, is also targeted at deepening UBA's e-Banking service enrollment in support of the CBN's 'cashless' initiative.
