Ihedioha, Okorocha, Joke Silva, others for Diva Awards 2011

AS PART of preparations for this year's grand finale of New Nigerian Diva (NND) pageant, talent and awards ceremony, some prominent Nigerians have been nominated for honours for their outstanding commitment and service to humanity, especially the arts and entertainment.The event will be held on December 3, 2011 at Sam Mbakwe Hall, Concorde Hotel, Owerri.Commenting on the theme for this year's pageant and talent show: 'Re-branding and Promoting the Girl-child', CEO of View Trend Entertainment and organiser of New Nigeria Diva, Dozie Eboh, noted, 'The objective of the pageant is to act as a sensitisation medium in communicating the innate qualities inherent in women, and inspire, motivate and promote women and girls to be the best they can be at all times, especially the girl-child, who is often looked down upon in a male-dominated society like ours.'Interestingly, the awards will go to those who have acted and carried the brand of excellence in campaigning and redefining the rights of the Nigeria girl-child'.Those shortlisted for the New Nigeria Diva Honours' Award include the wife of Imo State governor, Mrs. Ezinne Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Chief Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, Dr. Mrs. Uwakwe, Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, Chief Hon. Chris Asoluka, Sen. Osita Izunaso and Chief Tony Chukwu. Others are star actor, Joke Silva, Mrs. Adaora Ijezie, Prince Eze Madumere, Hon. Mrs. Chioma Ogoke, Chief Emma Madumere, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie Okereke.The award will be held at Sam Mbakwe Hall, Concorde Hotel, Owerri Imo State.
