Koloko, Olopo-Meta, Adekile call for police protection

AS armed robbers continued to threaten the peace in Koloko, Olopo-Meta, Adekile, Idi-Orogbo and its environs, in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, many residents of the communities have appealed to the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Alhaji Baba Adisa Bolanta, to direct his men, especially officers and men of the State Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) to tighten up security in the communities.The people of the areas made this appeal while narrating their ordeals in the hands of dare devil armed robbers that often terrorised the inhabitants of the communities, saying that they could no longer sleep.The people explained that incessants robbery attacks on members of the communities, which is in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area had become a thing of concern to both adults and children.According to Mr. Yemi Fakorede, a resident of Koloko community,� armed robbers, in recent times, had been terrorising our people and it is becoming another thing because people always tremble anytime they are going to bed.We are now living in fear as a result of incessant robbery attacks. For the past two to three weeks now, armed robbers have been attacking us. Therefore, we want the police commissioner to beef up security in our community, he said.Another resident of Koloko area, who simply identified himself as Abayomi, said he was attacked in his house by armed robbers and all his three mobile phones and other valuables were collected from him.A resident of Olopo-Meta community stated that the area had become the target of robbers, especially at night, stressing that many people were no longer comfortable staying in the community.For Mrs. Ayinla Tawakalitu, Adekile and Idi-Orogbo communities had become the haven of robbers.She added that there was the need for the appropriate security agencies to provide adequate security for lives and property of residents in the two communities.Some other people said a popular bus stop known as father Sunny was very notorious for such attacks in the area, therefore the police in the state were advised to pay a particular attention on the areas.
