I'm going to Morocco to scout for players - Keshi

Published by Tribune on Thu, 24 Nov 2011

SUPER Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi has explained the rationale behind his trip to Morocco venue of the CAF U-23 Olympics qualifier which is billed to kick off this weekend. The former Eagles captain is due in the north African country today where he is expected to team up with the Nigerian team tutored by Austin Eguavoen.According to a source, the ex Togolese national team coach is heading for Morocco on the order of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).However, Keshi revealed that he would not be in Morocco on secondment to the Dream Team V but would be going there to monitor the players though he will not turn down the team's coach call for advice."I'm not [going] there to coach the team. I am just going there as somebody who is taking note and probably looking for players, because this Under-23 is next in line to my team."So I may be able to see one or two players that I can bring into the senior national team."Keshi, however, says he is available to offer advice if Eguavoen asks."I am only there as a support system for Eguavoen. If he calls me for any advice, I will give him. But I am not going to tell him what to do.'The Eagles tactician is not ready to leave any stone unturned to rebuild the team and has expressed his desire to mould a squad made up of quality players. The Dream Team V is the team next to the Eagles and is presently parading most of the country's best legs, hence the decision of Keshi to focus on the team.
