Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has appointed seven Honorary Special Advisers that include Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu who is to serve as Honorary Adviser on Primary Health Care.An Igbo man, Chief Kester Ogualili, also made the list as special adviser on Community Relations. Ogualili becomes the first southerner to gain such political appointment in the state.Also appointed is a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Muhammad Nur Alkali as adviser on Education while Professor Dilli Dogo of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) is to serve as adviser on Health.Others are: the executive director, Bank of Industry, Mohammed Goni Alkali as adviser on Investments; former director in the Federal Civil Service, Usman Jidda, Administration; former special assistant to the president on Millennium Development Goals, Mrs. Amina Az-Zubayr is to serve as honorary special adviser on achieving MDGs in Borno State while Engr. Ibrahim M. Ali, ACN's governorship candidate in the 2011 elections in the state is to serve as adviser on agriculture.Usman Chiroma, Director of Press Affairs at the government house, Maiduguri, said in a statement that Governor Shettima believes the 'high profile, experienced and honorary experts will be of immense value in the development of Borno in line with his administration's thrust.Chiroma said Shettima also appointed 24 other special advisers that include former NLC chairman in the state, comrade Garba K. Ngamdu, as adviser on Labour Relations; Dr. Mohammed Bulama, adviser on Research, Documentation and Strategy; Dr. Shettima Bukar Kullima, projects monitoring and evaluation; surveyor James Pelachiroma, Land and Survey; Pharmacist Ibrahim Abba Masta, Health; Babagana Ajari for Water Resources; Zanna Abu, Religious Affairs; Asheikh Hursho Bashir, Works and Transport.Others include, Maina Mamman Tar, Political affairs for Borno north; Malami Wakil Korede, poverty alleviation; Samson, Environment; Ali Abatcha, Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs; Yerima Lawan Kareto, Education; Ibrahim Bulama, Housing and Rural Electrification; Baba John, Animal and Fisheries Development; Prince Sunday Gadzama, UBE; Abatcha Umar Ngala, Political Affairs for Borno Central and Yusuf Lawan, Home Affairs, Information and Culture. Also on the list are, Mohammed Aliyu Dili, Agriculture;Iya Adamu, special duties; Zarah Bukar, women affairs; Umar Sa'ad Yahe, political for south; Maina Markson, commerce and Bukar Kachalla for works and transport.Shettima described the appointees as credible persons that were carefully chosen to help in the development of the state and expressed the belief that the appointees will work hard in justifying the confidence Borno people repose in them.
