Odegbami hails Milo for supporting grassroots football

ACADEMICALS Sports President, Segun Odegbami, has hailed Milo for identifying with the youth and sports through its various programmes.Speaking during the final match of the football event of the on-going National Schools Sports Festival, tagged Calabar 2011, yesterday, the former team captain said, 'when we see events like this, we have cause to believe that the future is still really bright for Nigeria. We hope the talents discovered here will go on to represent Nigeria in the near future.'Lagos State boys won the national U-12 football competition sponsored by Nestle Milo as part of the National School Sports Festival by defeating Cross River by 5-4 after penalty shootout.The Lagos team will now represent Nigeria in the Nestle Milo international U-13 football competition slated for Ghana in April 2012. In Accra, it will compete against teams from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Ivory Coast.As part of the build up, Lagos will go into a sports academy programme courtesy of Milo early next year as part of its preparation for the international competition.
