Crime wave: Kwara set to phase out Okada

The Kwara State Government has set up a committee to work out the modality of phasing out the operation of commercial motorcycles (Okada), in the State, just as it assured citizens of adequate security arrangement to arrest the current wave of security problem especially in Ilorin, the State capital.Briefing newsmen yesterday after the state's emergency security council meeting at the Government House on the spate of security problem in the State, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Yinka Aluko, said the decision to replace the commercial motorcycles with tricycles became imperative in view of the series of attacks on innocent people of the State by men of the underworld.
