PLAYERS of the U-23 National Team, Dream Team V, were upbeat on Thursday evening when NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari and member of the NFF Executive Committee, High Chief Emeka Inyama arrived in Tangiers, venue of Saturday's cracker of the opener of the CAF U-23 Championship in Morocco.Maigari and Inyama travelled by road from Casablanca, just like the players did on Wednesday, arriving in the evening, and were met at the entrance to the Hotel Andalucia Golf by Head Coach Austin Eguavoen and other members of the technical crew. 'I can assure you, Sir, that this team is ready to go. It is true we would have wished to have a number of other players with us, but the reality is what we are faced with and we won't be crying over spilt milk', said Eguavoen.He went further: 'It is going to be tough and we know it, but we are ready. Someone once said that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. We know how important this competition is to Nigeria and Nigerians as a whole, and we are determined to go all out to get a ticket to the Olympics.'We really have to be ready and focused on the challenge and given all that the Nigeria Football Federation has done for this team since its inception, we have no choice but to go all out and earn a place at the London 2012 Olympics', stated Eguavoen.NFF President Aminu Maigari told the players that the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), the Government as a whole and the entire citizenry are looking up to them to win the competition in the North African country.'I am happy at with the confidence that I have seen in you and the players. Now, we all have to keep our heads on the ground and approach the games one after the other. Triumph is the ultimate, but we have to take it one match at a time and deliver for the nation.
