NOC presents new emblem

THE Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), yesterday at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos presented to the public its new emblem dubbed 'build to win'.Speaking on the occasion, president of the NOC, Engineer Sani Ndanusa said that the new emblem represents "a new spirit of determination and pursuit of excellence in our country's Olympic Movement".He stated that NOC, through its relationship with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) secured international training scholarships for nine Nigerian top athletes to boost their preparations for the London 2012 Olympics.Ndanusa added that "our target is to further reinforce both our administrative and technical preparations for the Olympic Games in order to ensure a record outing by our contingent to London".He also informed that the NOC would soon unveil its accredited partners and sponsors among the public and private sectors.The new institutional logo with eagle according to a member of the NOC Marketing Commission, Dr Patrick Ukah was approved by the IOC since October 24 this year.IOC and ANOCA member, Engineer Habu Gumel and the Deputy British High Commission in Nigeria, Mr Peter West, among others were at the ceremony.
