AFTER a rigorous auditions that took the team to different zone of the country, all is now set for the season three of the yearly TV reality show, Peak Talent Hunt. An initiative of Peak Milk as a platform for discovering fresh talents that would play big in the already flourishing entertainment industry, the 12 finalist are already in the house, where they are expected to compete for weeks.The top 12 acts from the 24 national finalists that progressed to the Peak Talent House are Joseph Shortcut (Comedian), Plus One (Dance Rappers), Edache Immaculate (Singer), Chima John (Rapper), Jane Francis Amadi (Rapper), Bernard John (Violinist) and Marvelous Osunbor (Rapper). Others include Ejiro Elvis (Singer), Phina Isiave (Singer), Simon Ikechukwu (Singer), Victoria Bassey (Singer) and Jeremiah Olaleke (Drummer).While in the House, the acts will receive professional coaching to help them compete in the weekly elimination shows. Based on their performances, a combination of judges and viewers SMS voting will decide who stays in and who gets evicted. In all, there will be five elimination shows leaving the final 3 acts that will compete at the grand finale in December, where the star prizewinner will emerge.According to the corporate affairs manager of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria, makers of Peak Milk, Ore Famurewa, judging criteria will be based on stage presence, entertainment value, talent, and ultimately true potentials.'The show has been expanded and auditions have already held in six zones across eleven cities in Nigeria. This year's hunt would not focus on music alone as comedy, dance and other areas of human endeavour with entertainment value, have also beeen considered. So, several prizes are up for grabs and the judges would be looking for that talent with true potential of becoming a star.'Prior to the selection of the top 12, auditions were held in Abuja, Makurdi, Enugu, Owerri, Benin, Asaba, Calabar, Uyo, Akure, Ibadan and Lagos, where 120 Acts qualified for the Zonal finals in Lagos. The list was further trimmed down to four acts per zone, before arriving at the 12 finalists, who are already in the house.According to the organizers, 40-million naira worth of prizes will be won this year. While the star prizewinner will get 10 million worth of cash and talent development contract, viewing audience will also win exciting prizes such as Apple iPads 2 and Blackberry phones based on their SMS voting. The show airs on Saturdays on Galaxy @ 6pm and on Sundays on the following stations: NTA network @ 6pm, Africa magic @8pm, Silverbird @ 9pm, Hi Nolly @7pm, ABS Akwa @ 8pm and Trend TV @ 8pm.Instituted in 2009, the Peak Talent Hunt Show is designed as a platform for the brand to connect and bond with the public as well as amplify Peak's proposition. Through the initiative, participants are exposed to professional coaching and mentoring. It also provides them with the viable platform to showcase their various talents or specials skills before a panel of judges without the hassle of purchasing entry forms.
