Olympics Eagles In Poor Start, Lose To Morocco

NIGERIA'S campaign for the London 2012 Olympics Games' ticket began on a rather poor note yesterday, as the National U-23 side, Dream Team, went down 0-1 to Morocco on the opening day of the Eight-Nations tournament in Casablanca.A lone goal by Abdulaziz Barada scored from the penalty spot in the 26th minutes was all the host country needed to box the coach Austin Eguavoen and his boys into a tight corner.The Nigerians started well, but were forced to make an early minute change, when Kingsley Udoh was injured in the 2nd minutes after he fell badly while trying to defend in his 18-yard box. Ibok Edet replaced him in the seventh minute.With the defeat, coach Eguavoen and the boys will have to go the extra mile to win their remaining games in the group against Senegal and Algeria.Before yesterday's match, Eguavoen was full of optimism, saying that he had a team that could rattle the Moroccans in front of their fans.Earlier in the year, the Super Falcons of Nigeria were knocked off the race for the London 2012 Olympics Games by Cameroun.
