Boy, 12, emerges winner at Obudu mountain race

12 year old pupil of Government Technical School, Ikot Nakanda, Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State Etim Moses on Sunday emerged winner in a three kilometre Children Race of the 7th edition of the Obudu International Mountain Race.Moses made history by finishing 13 minutes, nine seconds, beating 63 other contestants from the host community, Obanliku, Obudu, Calabar, Bekwarra and Yala Local Government Areas and carting away N100,000 cash prize.Master Godwin Antigha also from Government Technical College Akpabuyo came second by finishing 13 minutes, 13 seconds and went home with a cash prize of N80,000, while Azembe Ezekiel from the host community came third as he finished 13 minutes 15 seconds with the cash prize of N50,000.In the female category, Nkiruka Iroha a product of Comprehensive Sports Development programme in the state finished first at 13 minutes, 28 seconds with N100,000 cash prize. The second prize went to Memeh Mispah from the host community, Obanliku, while Akem Loveth came third with a cash prize of N50,000.In the two-kilometre media race, Mr. Odey Aleyor of the NTA, Calabar retained the title he won last year with the cash prize of $2,000; Gilbert Akwoh of Tourism Watch Magazine came second to go with $1,500 while Pathnelli Bankole of Silverbird who came third went home with $1,000.
