PDP chairmen forum faults Lagos council polls

STATES' Chairmen of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed disappointment over the recent Lagos State Local Council election which they described as a charade and brazen manipulation of the peoples' mandate.The group that converged in Dutse, Jigawa State under the umbrella of Conference of PDP State Chairmen alleged that the result of the election was set aside and losers were declared winners.In a statement signed by the Chairman of the forum Dr. Emmanuel Agbo who is also the Benue State PDP Chairman, the group urged the Presidency and the national leadership of PDP to expedite action and ensure justice was done over the Lagos council polls.The forum called on the party leadership to halt the trend whereby state executive committees of the party are being dissolved even when it is less than two months to the party congresses, noting that it is capable of breeding ill feelings within the party.The group expressed shock over the precarious state of the party in non-PDP controlled states even as it urged the President to support such states.The PDP Chairmen called on the leadership of the party to take necessary measures against some highly placed party leaders who were allegedly involved in anti-party activities during the last general elections to avoid a repeat.
