Bosso hails Reuben

Published by Tribune on Tue, 19 Jun 2012

WIKKI Tourists gaffer, Ladan Bosso, has backed Super Eagles rave-of-the-moment, Gabriel Reuben to grasp his Nigerian opportunity with both hands.Gabriel, who made his international debut during the 2010 Wafu Cup has blossomed under Eagles supremo, Stephen Keshi. The Kano Pillars' midfielder scored against Malawi during the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier and was voted Man-of-The-Match in Saturday's Afcon qualifier against Rwanda.Bosso, who coached Reuben at the Under20 level and during his stint as Pillars boss expressed satisfaction with his performance in the Eagles.'He is a great player with qualities of former Nigerian skipper, Sunday Oliseh.'I'm confident Reuben has a bright future in the Eagles and I must commend Keshi for using him well. When the team is attacking, you'll find him there and he can also help to prevent attack from opponents.'I invited him to the Flying Eagles when we played against Ranchers Bees, in 2009. He was in the team that played the Wafu Cup, in Warri, but missed the Africa Youth Championship, in Rwanda.'Obiorah Nwankwo and Yakubu Alfa were chosen ahead of him,' Bosso told SuperSport.com.The former Flying Eagles gaffer described Reuben as a utility player.'Keshi is lucky to have Reuben because he can also play as a right back and as a stopper,' he said to SuperSport.com.
