FORMER Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has been re-appointed as Club Manager of the Shooting Stars' Sports Club, 3SC, Ibadan two days after he was disengaged as General Manager of the club by the Oyo state government.Commissioner for youth and sports, Dapo Lam-Adesina confirmed this during a media briefing in his office on Wednesday night saying: "We have reached a compromise and we have also been able to set a standard which he has agreed to and promised to deliever. ''In this situation, we are going to tie his salary to performance which I believe will spur him and every other person that will still come back to the club to take it to greater heights."Reacting to his new appointment in achat with Tribunesports, the headmaster as he was fondly called, during his playing days said: "This is a new beginning and I am happy to be relevant with 3SC. What happened initially I think was a kind of re-organisation which I believe is good for the club''.''I just pray that everything works well for the club as we look forward to the new league season which begins in January.Meanwhile,A cross section of fans of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) FC of Ibadan yesterday reacted to the re-appointment of Mutiu Adepoju by the Oyo State government as club manager, a day after the disbandment of the team was announced.Adepoju, a former General Manager of the team for two and a half years, was on Wednesday night designated as club manager of the team; a situation some fans of the Ibadan-based outfit decried saying it was totally unjust.'What is the essence of disbanding the team if we are recycling the officials' Does the state government really mean business in the overhauling of the team' Why was Mutiu Adepoju named again as the club manager' Is he the only football person Oyo state could be proud of' Personally, I totally disagree with the re-appointment of Mutiu Adepoju, he should go if we want to build a new team,' said Alhaji Olaide Busari. The government should ask Adepoju what his achievements with the team are. During Adepoju's era, players were owed backlog of allowances. I do not see any reason why the government should re-appoint Adepoju again.'Another fervent supporter of the team, Seyi Olusa said the re-appointment of Adepoju showed that the state government lacked focus.''The right step for the state government is to appoint another person entirely,'' he explained.Another fan of team, Samuel Sunday said the initial decision of the government to disband the team showed that the government did not understand what it was doing.''From the onset, I don't think the decision to sack the players and officials was well thought of. Bringing back Adepoju is an embarrassment to the state government, I advise the executive to step into the issue.
