The cartel behind fuel subsidy

THE moment Nigerians have been waiting for to know the identities of the alleged beneficiaries of the trillions of naira the Federal Government claimed it is paying for fuel subsidy finally came yesterday. In fulfilment of its promise to unveil the cartel benefiting from the subsidy, the Senate, yesterday, reeled out their names at a public hearing in Abuja. It was a moment of confession, as the Joint Committee on Petroleum Resources, Downstream, Appropriation and Finance, chaired by Senator Magnus Abe, read out over 100 names of prominent Nigerians, said to be the direct beneficiaries of the subsidy.
