Tension as Kogi awaits next governor

THERE was palpable tension in Kogi State yesterday, as the results of the governorship election held in the state were being collated.The polls, however, recorded a low turnout of voters in many of the polling booths visited by our correspondent, although Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were on hand early enough in many areas for accreditation and voting.Generally, the election was peaceful across the Confluence State. Governor Ibrahim Idris was accredited about 10:30a.m. at Abejukolo Ward 1, Unit 001, where the electoral materials were said to have arrived on time.
