Staco restates commitment to education, sports development

The Managing Director, Staco Insurance Plc, Mr. Sakiru Oyefeso, has identified three key sectors of focus in the companys development plan.In a statement on Friday, he was quoted as restating Stacos commitment to corporate social responsibility, especially in the areas of education, security and sports development.Staco is involved in every area of the economy, where there is a need but the main focus of the companys corporate social responsibility are education, sports and security.According to him, adding value to the society has remained a core value of the firm.Oyefeso, who described the business world of today as complex and dynamic with lots of issues emerging, said corporations ought to know that they were more than just economic institutions. He said they needed to take up the responsibility of helping the society solve some of the most pressing social problems, some of which those corporations had also caused.Devoting some of the organisations resources to the solution to these problems, he said, was very essential. The benefits of adopting corporate social responsibility policies, according to him, include enhanced reputation; a reservoir of goodwill within the community and the society at large; an increased customer loyalty; increased positive name recognition; brand awareness; and effective community relations.He said, Our CSR is designed to have positive impact on the society and boost the reputation of the company. We have a heart that connects with the worries of our stakeholders; and as a policy, we believe in giving back to the society as a sign of corporate responsiveness.Oyefeso said the company was passionate about the state of education in the country.He also said the company was dedicated to sports because of the belief that recreation was important to the development of the human body.He added that the company was interested in security matters and had been very consistent in supporting the Nigeria Police Force in combating crimes, especially in the Lagos environs.The Staco Insurance boss maintained that the aim of most of the companys corporate projects was to impact increased knowledge of insurance to the general public and also position the organisation as a caring one.
