Ceragon Networks pledges commitment to Nigerian telecoms growth

The Chief Executive Officer, Ceragon Networks, Mr. Ira Palti, has said that the telecoms company is very committed to the continuous growth of the Nigerian telecoms industry.Speaking during the inauguration of its office in Lagos, on Friday, Patsi, noted that the company would play an integral role in the expansion of the countrys bourgeoning telecoms sector.He said the new testing facility integrated into its new office was an indication of the telecoms firms readiness to partner with Nigeria in the area of economic growth.He said, Ceragon is committed to playing an integral role in the expansion of the Nigerian telecommunications market, as it stands at the forefront of exciting technological developments in Africa. The potential for growth in both Nigeria and in Africa is enormous. We are delighted to be partnering operators as they build out their wireless networks and make broadband more accessible to consumers and industry alike, changing the face of Africa and its interactions with the rest of the world.Palti added that Ceragons high capacity wireless backhaul solutions enabled cellular operators and other wireless service providers to deliver 2G, 3G, and LTE/4G voice and data services that enable smartphone applications such as Internet browsing, music and video.He admitted that the Nigerian telecoms industry was growing rapidly, adding that Ceragon considered the country as one of its growth area.He said, We are investing resources here locally to really provide the services and the capabilities for different operators; so that we can help them both with our products, but also with the services and the capabilities to make them running up and online as quickly as possible.Speaking in the same vein, the companys President for Africa, Mr. John Earley, said, Ceragon provides solutions which meet the unique requirements of the African market, from its urban to its rural areas. We recognise that providing creative, innovative and energy-efficient solutions which can be quickly and easily implemented, is key for operators as they work to maximise their capacity in the minimum possible time.The Country Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ceragon Nigeria, Mr. Bekele Tadesse, who said 99 per cent of the companys workforce in the country were Nigerians, stressed that the company was devoted to using the skills, knowledge and expertise of the indigenous people for its operations in Nigeria.He noted that the company had also invested so much in training over 22 sub-contracting companies on how to install, maintain and diagnose its products in Nigeria.In his remarks, the Executive Commissioner, Nigerian Communications Commission, Dr. Bashir Gwandu, expressed satisfaction that 99 per cent of the Ceragons employees were Nigerians while pledging regulatory support to the telecoms investor.
