KunSi-Haweon, a top South Korean taekwondo coach, is set to arrive Nigeria later in the week to brighten the countrys prospects for medals in next years Olympic Games in London. Suh Jung-sun, the Director of the Korean Cultural Centre in Abuja, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abuja that that the coach was expected to spend a year in the country.Suh added that the coachs salaries would be paid by the South Korean government, while the Cultural Centre and the National Sports Commission would provide him with a befitting accommodation, and other basic logistics.The coachs salaries are coming from the South Korean government; while the NSC will cater for his accommodation and other necessary logistics.The Cultural Centre, as one of the facilitators of the arrangement, will also support him in its own way, he said.The director said the coach is in the same 84 kg weight category with Chika Chukwumerije, Nigerias leading athlete in the sport, who clinched a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics.He is in the same weight category with Chukwumerije, and this is going to help him a lot, he said.Reacting to the development, President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Jonathan Nnaji, said Kun would add value to Chukwumerijes quality.The coach will no doubt be of immense assistance to Chukwumerije, and this will enable him to spar and train with somebody of his weight category, he said.The TFN president who doubles as the Vice-President of the African Taekwondo Union said Kun would also be an added motivation to the nations taekwondoists ahead of the 2012 Olympics.
