My View on Nigerian Girls' Attitude'' - Another Male TILB Reader Writes In

Published by Lailas Blog on Tue, 03 Feb 2015

Hi Laila,Please permit me a space on your blog to air my own personal views on what I read on your blog about the issue of some Nigerian girls who have terrible attitude. My name is Okechukwu and I usually read your blog but have not commented before. I'm a businessman here in Onitsha.I don't think there should be a debate as to whether some Nigerian girls have bad attitude or not, because there is nowhere you go in the world that you will not find both good and bad people from different races, both guys and girls alike. So I think it really depends on your personal experience. But from what I read in his article, I don't think the first guy who wrote in generalized that Nigerian girls behave that way. I think he was just referring to some of them based on his own experience.I have lived in Nigeria and also travelled to other parts of the world too. There are actually good Nigerian women but there are some with bad attitude that try to spoil the image of the good ones. I have personally met both the good ones and the bad ones with nasty behavior that will even annoy you with their behavior. But I think it all depends on the upbringing such girls had and other negative influences which they imbibed while growing up.I used to live in Lagos before when I was doing my diploma program in Yabatech. I remember one incident that surprised me one day when I entered a bus from Mile 2 to Oshodi. I was in the front seat as the bus was loading. After a short time, one girl joined me in the front seat, which was meant for two passengers. Later as the bus moved after paying my fare, she asked me to help her with a hundred naira which I told her I didn't have. But surprisingly she just looked at me somehow and hissed at me and I was really embarrassed that day but I just ignored her. I wondered if she gave me any money to keep for her.Another day I entered a bus and was in the back seat when one old woman of about 70 years joined us. The seat was meant for five people. But there was one fat girl who sat there at the edge with a little more space who refused to adjust herself so that the old woman could sit well, even when everybody on the seat pleaded with her. She even said to hell with the old mama. I remember that when the old woman later dropped, she was cursing the girl with anger.I have a friend who wanted to marry a certain girl two years ago. But up till now the marriage has been cancelled because the girl insulted my friend's mother after the mother asked her why she was chewing gum and answering her rudely. And it was not a small insult o, it was a big insult she insulted her mother-in-law to-be. The family rejected her till today and now my friend has now proposed to another girl and they are planning to marry by this year ending. So there are actually women with terrible attitude you will never pray to come across, but there are good ones too. And it's not only in Nigeria, it's in other parts of the world too. But I think that many Nigerian girls should behave themselves because many of them are depressed because they don't have men to marry them without knowing that it's because of their behavior that they have unknowingly chased away men who would have married them because of their attitude. That's all I have to say on this issue. Thank u Laila. Nwanyi oma.Frm Okechukwu.Onitsha.
