Security Agencies Ban Two Major Political Events In Kano

The Kano State Police Command announced that it has indefinitely banned political event holding at SaniAbacha Indoor Stadium, Kofar Mata and Polo Ground along Club Road respectively.Our check revealed that the Kwankwasiyya political group has organised a mass wedding to be funded by the erstwhile Kano governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. About 200 couples would be wedded tomorrow, our finding.In its announcement, the Kano Police Command said it had, in cooperation with sister security agencies, uncovered a perhaps security breach if the events holds simultaneously.On Saturday 20th August, also, the Kano State government would be holding a massive youth empowerment to be held at SaniAbacha stadium.Security sources say intelligence reports available to them revealed that some disgruntle elements are preparing to use the occasions to perpetuate havoc in the state.It said that it will not fold its arms to watch some people cause breach of peace, being that their prime responsibility is to ensure peace, tranquillity, protection of lives and property and maintenance of law and order.The Police Commissioner said he would be meeting the organisers of the events with a view to proffering solution.
