Lamido tasks emirs on insecurity

GOVERNOR Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has challenged traditional rulers in the North to ensure ways of solving the current insecurity problems in the country.Lamido, who made the call on Sunday at the closing of the Dutse Open Pro-Am Golf Tournament at the Dutse Royal Golf Course, indicated that since the game had assembled the emirs, they should use the opportunity to solve the insecurity problem.Lamido pointed out that for the fact that they are well positioned as the custodians of our culture and traditions, they should be able to proffer solution to the imbroglio.'So you know the social behaviour of our people and what they are doing. What they are doing is something that you can advise us on what to do', he addedAccording to him, 'Golf is a culture and it is one singular game, which unites people across all social divides and this particular one has been able to bring the various emirs of the federation, opinionmoulders and experts together.'It has shown that there is hope for Nigeria, because there is no better way to show this social integration and tolerance than the coming together of the emirs here. I am sure that while you are here golfing, you should be able to use the occasion to muse on what you can do in your various domains to see that the crises Nigeria is going through today are checked'.
