THE Ekiti State unitchairman of theNational Union of Petroleum Employees and Natural Gas (NUPENG), Mr Jegede Olumide, has expressed gratitude to the national leadership, state units, as well as well-wishers for their support during the inauguration of the Ekiti State Industrial Unit held at Adekunle Fajuyi Memorial Park, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, recently.According to him, 'it was like a joke when the union started some years back, but, to God be the glory, we have reached this far.'First and foremost, I wish to appreciate our guests from the national headquarters, other units and all our well wishers for their tremendous support and for making this inauguration a reality. On behalf of the other executive members, I promise, we will not let you down.'Mr Olumide also added that the mandate of NUPENG, OGS was to discourage the illicit business of adulterated petroleum products supplies to consumers, particularly industries, telecommunication, hospitality, construction companies, health and the public.'Oil and Gas suppliers branch of NUPENG is also concerned about the Federal Government of Nigeria crusade against pipeline vandalisation. To this end, all hands must be on deck to checkmate the activities of this wicked people.'To achieve this, we need the support of all and sundry, the security agent, members of NUPENG and the general public. It is only through unity of purpose that we can achieve this great task,' he stated.He promised to bring his wealth of experience in unionism to make OGS a great branch of NUPENG in Ekiti State.
