Lagos PDP sets up 7-man disciplinary committee

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in Lagos has set up a seven-man disciplinary committee to probe the activities of some of its members who were alleged of anti-party activities.Disclosing this to the Nigerian Tribune on Sunday, the its State Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani said.'The decision to inaugurate the committee is in line with the Party Constitution and also to reposition the party ahead of the 2015 general election.The committee is chaired by Chief (Mrs) Onikepo-Oshodi. Other members included Dr Segun Ogundimu; Dr Remi Akitoye; Honourable Yaya Dosunmu; Honourable Phillips Aivoji; Princess Gbite Olateru and Mr Anayo Emenua as the secretary.The committee is expected to submit its findings with recommendations to the party.According to the constitution of the party, structures at the various levels have the powers to sanction erring members at such levels. Speaking on behalf of other members, the chairman promised to serve in the committee without fear or favour. It will be recalled that some party members were accused of working against the party at the last governorship and local council elections.
