Ekiti FA names new secretary

THE executive board of the Ekiti State Football Association held an emergency board meeting at Ado-Ekiti the state capital and rectify the appointment of Mrs. Mercy Adegbuji as the new scribe for the association following the transfer of the immediate past Secretary Issac Elegbeleye by the Ekiti State Sports Council.According to a communiqu issued at the end of the meeting and made available to Tribunesports by the Chairman of the association Issac Ayodele, the board deliberated on various issues hampering the entrenchment of a formidable football activity in the state and proffered solutions geared at moving football to greater height in the state.The board expressed delights in the moves of the state government and commended the efforts of the state governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development and the Sports Council for at leaving no stone unturned to develop football in the state.The board also appealed to the state government as there is need for them to catch up with their counterparts in the South-West, being the only state that does not have a National League or Premier League club, while states like Lagos and Osun State have four National league clubs. Ondo State parades two Premier League clubs, Ogun State has two National league clubs, while Oyo State has a Premier League club and addition to a National League club.
