A Federal Government that was reluctant to pay N18000 as minimum wage not too long ago, and a government that could no longer fund the fuel subsidy, which would benefit the poor and working Nigerians, last week announced an increased payment of the pensions and allowances of Nigerian former presidents. The government of President Goodluck Jonathan will splash N3.19bn on the pensions and allowances of former Presidents, Heads of State, their deputies, former leaders of the National Assembly and their families this year.read more
