Access Bank partners CWC Group on energy sector development

Access Bank Plc, a financial services group with commitment to the socio-economic development of the African continent, has partnered the CWC Group, an international non-governmental organisation renowned for expertise in oil, gas, power and investment, to host this year's edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas conference (NOG) 2012, holding at International Conference Centre, Abuja, from February 20 to 23. In its 12th year, the annual conference is a platform for strategic interaction between government and stakeholders in the oil and gas sector of the nation's economy. Deliberations from the conference have facilitated the development of key policies that have had significant impact on the sector. As a major player in the sector, Access Bank demonstrates its commitment to the growth of the sector through partnership with credible organisations such as the CWC group and the provision of funding and advisory services to industry operators. Specifically, this year's conference is focusing on addressing burning issues facing the sector and also assist the country in cementing itself as the leading exporter of oil and gas in Africa. It will also address key areas that are in need of attention in the country's energy sector, as well as address the challenges facing the ever changing energy market in Nigeria. Amongst the facilitators at the event is Access Bank's Executive Director, Institutional Banking, Okey Nwuke, who is expected to make a presentation titled 'The Outlook of The Recently Sold Blocks, Nigeria's Marginal Field Prospects and International Lessons in Economic Production', to the cross sectoral gathering today, the second day of the conference. Dignitaries expected at the conference include Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum Resources; Professor Bart Nnaji, Minister of Power; Hadizah Ibrahim Mailafia, Minister of Environment; Mr Sheik Musa Goni, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Resources/Nigerian Governor for OPEC; Austen Oniwon, Group Managing Director, NNPC; Dr Levi Ajuonuma, Group General Manager, Public Affairs, NNPC, among others.
