Greg Hardy: Latest News, Rumors, Speculation on Cowboys Star's Suspension Appeal

Published by Bleacher Report on Wed, 08 Jul 2015

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy is currently suspended for the first 10 games of the 2015 NFL season for conduct detrimental to the league, but the superstar pass-rusher reportedly intends to continue fighting if his appeal is unsuccessful.Continue for updates.Report: Hardy to Fight Any Suspension Longer Than 2 GamesWednesday, July 8Hardy and the Cowboys are still awaiting an arbitration ruling regarding his suspension, but if the decision results in a suspension exceeding two games in length, then the NFL will reportedly have a lawsuit on its hands.According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the 26-year-old former Carolina Panthers standout will not accept anything more than a two-game ban since his alleged domestic violence incident occurred before the NFL cracked down on such situations due to Ray Rice. Also, Hardy was already forced to sit out 15 games last season.Per Florio, an anonymous source close to the situation insists that Hardy has every intention of getting his suspension reduced significantly or eliminated."Greg has every intention of taking whatever legal steps are necessary," the source said. "Nothing has changed on our end.Greg has nothing to lose by fighting."This comes on the heels of Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reporting that Hardy may have been losing the will to fight against the discipline the NFL imposed against him:Hardy is certainly ready to get back on the field, but a reduced suspension would be hugely beneficial to the Cowboys as well considering their need to improve defensively in 2015.Dallas is also set to be without linebacker Rolando McClain for the first four games of the season due to his violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy. According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com, that is problematic considering the quality of the Cowboys' opponents early in the season:Having a player of Hardy's caliber on the field will make a huge difference for Dallas, as he registered 15 sacks in his last full season back in 2013.Hardy is one of the best players in football at his position when he plays, and while that hasn't happened often since last season, he figures to do everything in his power to ensure he is back in action by Week 3 of the 2015 campaign.Follow @MikeChiari on Twitter
