Controversy as NASS stops sale of new number plates, driver's licence

THE National Assembly yesterday directed the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to immediately suspend the sale of the new driver's licence and vehicle number plates, saying that the price regime of the new scheme is imposing additional expenditure on Nigerians.But, in a swift reaction, a group, Nigerians Rise for Good Governance (NRGG), accused the legislature of playing politics with the project.To ensure compliance with the directive, the Senate mandated its committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs to conduct a public hearing on the scheme.
