Edo PDP appeals to Buhari, others to accept defeat

LEADERS of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have appealed to presidential candidates who lost to President Goodluck Jonathan in the presdiential election held lastx Saturday to accept defeat and join hands with the president in taking Nigeria to greater heights.According to the spokes-man of the leaders, Mr Kenneth Imansuangbon, since the conduct of the election was adjudged free and fair by local and international observers, the candidates should accept the result as the verdict of the people and congratulate the winner as  true democrats.Imansuangbon, who is also a gubernatorial aspi-rant in the state, in a release, on Tuesday,described Saturday, April 16, as a great day for Nigeria, as the election was peaceful, devoid of malpractices or any other form of misconduct.Imansuangbon, who commended Nigerians for trooping out en masse to elect Jonathan, also comm-ended the Independent National Electoral Com-mission (INEC) for ensuring that the poll was hitch-free, and devoid of malpractices.While congratulating President Jonathan for the victory, he assured Nige-rians that the president would not disappoint them in the delivery of the dividends of democracy, adding that most of the ills plaguing the nation would soon be a thing of the past.Also, Imansuagbon berated the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, for sackingeight  members of his cabinet over the loss of Edo Central senatorial district by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to the PDP.According to him, the action of the state governor was undemocratic and vindictive, saying that by this action, the governor had shown that he was not a democrat.
