Jose Mourinho Reportedly Eyes Manchester United Job Amid Louis van Gaal Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 07 Nov 2015

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to replace Louis van Gaal at Manchester United next summer, as the Glazer family, who own the Red Devils, are reportedly not fully satisfied with the Dutchman's management of the club. Those sensational claims have been made by Le10 Sport (h/t Sport Witness' Tom CoastandMetro's Will Giles), with the French news outlet believing the Special One still hasn't gotten over being passed on as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement in favour of David Moyes.Per the Daily Star's Luke Gardener, citing the Le10 Sport piece, the Glazers might be interested in Mourinho's services, while the manager is very keen on the United job.Mourinho's job security with the Blues is at an all-time low after a dismal start to the 2015-16 campaign, with criticism over his behaviour and performances coming from seemingly every angle. Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton was one of many to take a shot at Mourinho, speaking to BBC 5 Live Sport (h/t BBC Sport):While he still has the chance to salvage his season and Chelsea career, a campaign without a trophy could very well lead to Mourinho getting sacked, especially in light of the recent controversies he has been embroiled in.As reported by Chris Cutmore and Anthony Joseph of MailOnline, Mourinho has already been in hot water with the FA on several occasions this season for post-match comments directed toward the officials, while he also made headlines for allegedly pushing a teenager and the ongoing saga with former team doctor Eva Carneiro.Meanwhile, Van Gaal is also facing criticism for United's dreadful scoring form of late, which has led to plenty of jeers from the fans recently. Per BBC Sport, the Dutchman has requested fans boo him, not his players, to the amazement of Bleacher Report's Paul Ansorge:Despite the lack of goals, the Red Devils are enjoying a solid second season under Van Gaal, and they currently sit just four points off first place in the Premier League standings. While the Glazers may be wishing for even more from the club, even they won't be able to deny United have climbed out of the abyss under Van Gaal. With that in mind, it's hard to see why they would now be willing to move on from the Dutchman and turn the club over to Mourinho, who is currently going through his worst spell ever managing in the Premier League.Tom Coast agreed:While it is true a big portion of the Manchester United fanbase arent 100% happy with Louis Van Gaals football, there has been an improvement when it comes to results, with Manchester United sitting in fourth in the Premier League after 11 games, only four points off top.Considering Chelsea are currently ten points behind Louis Van Gaals team and 15th in the league, would a move for Mourinho really appeal to the Glazers' We dont think so.It's not like Mourinho is known as an attacking mastermind who would instantly boost United's scoring potential. If even Hollywood stars like Will Ferrell start making jokes about your defensive mindset, per the Independent's Tom Sheen, it's safe to say vibrant, attacking football isn't your biggest strength. If the Glazers wished to change United's philosophy to a more attractive, attacking one, Mourinho would certainly not be the answer.Follow @ReverschPass
