Osun indigenes resident in Ondo pledge support for Mimiko

Indigenes of Osun State living in Ondo State have expressed their readiness to support the second term ambition of the Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.The people said they would mobilise themselves for the actualisation of the ambition of the governor to enable him continue the good work he had been doing in the last three years.According to the President of the Osun State Descendants Union, Ondo State chapter, Pastor Olawusi Olufemi, the members of the organisation have directly and indirectly benefitted from the policies and programmes of the state government.Speaking after the meeting of the members of the union held in Akure, he said the programmes of the present administration in the key sectors of the society which had positively affected the masses were commendable.He explained that the free health to mother and children under age five had brought tremendous relief to the people of the state, both indigenes and non indigenes.Apart from this, the Osun State indigenes also said they had been living in peace with their hosts in the various communities they reside without fear of attack from any quarter.Olawusi, however, appealed to the state governor to accord recognition to members of the union that had been actively involved in the politics of the state.According to him, the indigenes in the local governments where the union has large population should give the members an opportunity to participate in the politics of the area.He also pleaded with the governor to consider sending members of the union on holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia.He stated that Osun State indigenes making their living in Ondo State were ready to further contribute their quotas to the development of the state.
