Ogun to create LCDAs

Ogun State gover-nor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has disclosed that the state government will create local council development areas, in order to bring governance closer to the people at the grass roots, just as the Kobape-Siun highway running through Oke Mosan'IBB Boulevard'Ibara is to be reconstructed to six lanes.Senator Amosun dropped the hint in Abeokuta, while presenting his scorecard, in commemoration of his one year in office.He assured that his administration is committed to a complete redefinition of the state landscape, with a standard that would be a benchmark for other states, noting that the newly commissioned 2.4 km Ita-Eko-Sokori-Totoro six-lane road, would be replicated in other parts of the state.The Governor noted that a total of 24 major roads, covering about 200 km were being awarded for reconstruction. The roads, according to him, include Mowe-Ofada-Owode road, OGTV-Ajebo road, Ojere-Omida-Onikolobo-Sapon-Ake-Adatan road, Laderin-Ewang road, and the Hilltop Estate road.Others are Papalanto/ Ilaro Federal road, Ilara/Ijoun-Eggua/Oja-Odan-Ilase road, Joga Orile/Iboro/Imasai- Ilaro road, Imasai'Iganokoto- Ayetoro road, Sagamu'Benin Expressway junction-Remo Secondary School, Round About-Isale Oko Akarigbo Street-Sabo-Oba Erinwole junction, Ikangba-Obalende-Lagos Garage-Okun Owa- Ilese road and Ilese-Imushin-Ijebu Ife- Itele- Sagamu road, Obalende-Alapo-Olisa-Saka-Ashiru Roundabout Ondo road junction, as well as Ikenne-Ilishan-Ago Iwoye road, among others.On employment generation, the state helmsman noted that, about 11,504 workers, cutting across various cadres had been employed within one year, assuring that more would be employed, while others in vocational areas had been empowered.
