3,000 Lagos Island residents share 15,000 litres kerosene

Fifteen thousand litres of kerosene worth thousands of naira was recently, in Lagos, shared among over 3,000 residents of Lagos Islands. The gesture was aimed at cushioning the effect of the scarcity of the product in the country.Fulfilling his campaign promise, Honourable Hakeem Marsha, representing Lagos Island Constituency 1, said most families in the area could nor afford the skyrocketting cost of the product.His words, ''I decided to distribute kerosene to my people in Lagos Island to reduce pressure and agony being faced by constituents when searching for the commodity to cook. It is also part of my promise during my electioneering campaign to continuously give an account of stewardship in my constituency.He disclosed that about 3,000 people benefited from the commodity which implied that each person went home with five litres of kerosene.Among the beneficiaries of the commodity included Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imams, traditional chiefs, market men and women among others.He, however, promised that the gesture would be a continuous exercise, saying that he would continue to make life more meaningful to the people of Lagos Island.
