London 2012: Princess Dudu tips Nigeria for Taekwondo gold

FORMER Nigerian international, Princess Dudu has revealed that there are lots of opportunities for the country flag bearers in the taekwondo events to win gold medal at the forthcoming London 2012 Olympic Games.She however warned the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation to desist from playing politics that could affect the performances of the athletes prior to the Games.Speaking to Tribunesports, the All Africa Games gold medalist noted that the country has potential in the likes of Uche Chukwumerije among others to win gold at their various events during the Games,The former Olympian stated that the federation should expose the athletes to international competitions and back them up with full support as this would adequately prepare them ahead of the challenges at the Olympics.'The federation should make sure that they are allowed the athletes to go for training tours, provide the necessary equipment for them and ensure that the team is lacking nothing before the big events in London . By doing this they will make the country proud by wining gold medals in their various categories','One cannot plant corn and expects to harvest grains, they have to work towards achieving this feat, the federation has what it takes to do all these and lift the country image. Uche is my brother because we are both in heavy weight category, whenever I am fighting he supported me so do I too. God will grant him that needed strength to win gold in London, ' she opined.
